Some of the most common workplace injuries result from injuries to the feet. From slipping/tripping to stepping on dangerous objects, most of these accidents do not occur with the right pair of work boots like the Georgia Boot Homeland Waterproof Insulated Work Boot.

However, shopping for work boots is easier said than done considering the vast number of brands and models in the market. Plus, there are also numerous factors to consider when shopping.

Well, if you’re open to recommendations, there’s a pair we have reviewed below that should be worth a look: the Georgia Boot Homeland Waterproof Insulated Work Boot.

Reviewing the Georgia Boot Homeland Waterproof Insulated Work Boot

Georgia Boot is known for its line of high-performance work boots. Is the Homeland a worthy addition to Georgia Boot’s line? Let’s take a look at some of the key features of Georgia Boot Homeland Work Boot:

Does It Offer Good Waterproof Qualities?

If you are working in a wet, muddy or cold environment, keeping your feet dry is a must. You can do this best with waterproof boots. With that said, the Homeland boasts full-grain waterproof leather which gives the pair long-lasting durability and beauty. Of course, full-grain leather is also extremely resistant to water. The leather provides a certain level of breathability as well for added comfort.

The high-end leather is coupled with 900 Denier Cordura fabric which does most of the heavy lifting when it comes to the boot’s ability to repel water. As if that’s not enough, the pair also features the proprietary Georgia Waterproof system which should keep your feet warm and dry.

Will It Hold Up Against Tough Conditions?

As mentioned, the full-grain leather gives the Homeland a good deal of durability and longevity. Cordura is also another tough material that adds strength and durability, making it more resistant to abrasions and tears. The boot has synthetic soles which are not as durable as leather but it still holds up under tougher environments.

Is It Comfortable and Offer Good Support?

Many have this misconception that heavy-duty work boots skimp on the comfort department. That is simply not the case with this pair from Georgia Boot. For starters, the Homeland has a TDC (Technology Driven Comfort) polyurethane footbed which provides maximum cushioning and air circulation. The ergonomic arch offers great support and comfort and relieves foot fatigue. Polyurethane is also a lightweight material, so it barely adds to the overall weight.

The oil-resistant PVC outsole is another standout feature that is not only comfortable but provides stability as well. The outsole is sewn to the upper using direct-attach construction, creating a watertight bond. Another feature that adds to the support to the arch area is the steel shank. The shank is not heavy at all and flexible. The steel shank in the outsole also protects your feet from anything that might puncture the boot.

What About Safety Features?

If you are working in cold environments or want to go hiking, you’ll be pleased to know that the Georgia Boot Homeland Waterproof Insulated Work Boot is also insulated. The boot features 600 grams Thinsulate ultra insulation, so your feet will not get cold. The outsole is also oil and slip resistant, significantly improving traction.

Are There Any Drawbacks?

The Georgia Boot Homeland Waterproof Insulated Work Boot is a bit on the heavy side, weighing 4.3 lbs per pair (size 10). However, this is quite understandable considering that this is a waterproof and insulated pair. In addition, there’s not that many safety features offered here. We would have liked more features like a steel toe protection but we imagine that it would only add more weight to the shoe. Sizing can be a bit tricky too. If your feet are slightly wide, be sure that you go for the wide model for a good, comfortable fit.

Does It Offer Good Value?

The Homeland is available at around $120 which is not bad at all considering that you’re looking at a waterproof and insulated model. The excellent waterproof quality and full-grain leather alone are worth the price. It’s a good thing that this is more than just a waterproof boot. There are more expensive boots on the market that offer the same features. The Homeland offers enough in terms of comfort and performance to warrant the price.

To Wrap Up

The Georgia Boot Homeland Waterproof Insulated Work Boot looks to be another winner from Georgia. While we won’t recommend it for those who are looking for extensive safety features, this is a good pair to have if you’re working in wet, cold and snowy environments. Its ability to keep water and moisture out is quite impressive. Plus, the insulation has kept our feet warm and dry, even while working outside. Best of all, Homeland is a very comfortable work boot and will likely last you a long time.
